At ForGood.Tech, charity is about more than good intentions, it’s about supporting organisations that make a tangible difference to people’s lives. One charity that holds particular meaning for us is Birmingham Children’s Hospital, whose work impacts not only our local community, but families from across the UK.

An Organisation Making a Real Difference

Birmingham Children’s Hospital provides specialist care, treatment and support to over 100,000 children and young people every year, many of whom are facing complex, life‑changing medical challenges.

Every day, the hospital’s teams deliver outstanding care with skill, compassion and dedication. Beyond the clinical expertise, what truly stands out is the holistic support offered to children and their families, helping them feel supported and cared for during incredibly difficult times.

Why The Birmingham Children’s Hospitals Is Personal to Our Team

Our support for Birmingham Children’s Hospital is especially meaningful because of its personal connection to our colleagues.

For Kerry, this isn’t just a charity she supports from afar, it’s one that has played an important role in her family’s life. Her granddaughter Harper has received care through the hospital, giving her family first‑hand experience of the compassion and expertise provided by the staff.

Seeing the care Harper received brought home just how vital the hospital’s work is. Alongside specialist medical treatment, the hospital also provided access to learning through its school provision, fantastic teachers and welcoming play areas. This helped children continue to learn, play and feel like themselves during difficult times.

The hospital was there when it mattered most, a powerful reminder that behind the numbers are real children and families being supported every single day.

Harper’s dad, George, has shared just how much Birmingham Children’s Hospital means to his family:
“Birmingham Children’s Hospital isn’t just a local hospital in the West Midlands. It supports children and families from across the UK, and even beyond. If your child needs specialist care, this is one of the places you could find yourself. It’s so easy to think of it as someone else’s hospital until the moment it becomes yours. I’ve seen first‑hand the impact fundraising has, and every donation – no matter the size – genuinely makes a difference. It supports the care, the environment and the people who give families like mine more time, more hope and more memories. That’s why this means so much. And to have a business like ForGood.Tech, with a personal connection to me, choose to support BCH, the place that has given Harper more happy days, is incredibly touching.”

“This isn’t just a charity to us. It’s a place I now call home. A place that stood beside our family when we needed it most. So thank you. Thank you ForGood.Tech for giving back to a place that does so much for so many families.”

Rethinking How We Support Charities

Our connection to Birmingham Children’s Hospital has also influenced how we think about charitable giving more broadly.

In the past, we raised and donated funds through one‑off initiatives. While these efforts were always positive, we recognised the importance of moving towards a more sustainable, long‑term approach.

From 2026 onwards, we hope to take this forward more intentionally by spending less on merchandise and redirecting those funds into ongoing charitable giving. This will allow us to support charities like Birmingham Children’s Hospital in a more meaningful and reliable way.

For us, this goes beyond fundraising – it’s about standing alongside a cause that means so much to our community, our colleagues and their families.

After receiving life‑changing support from Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Harper wanted to give something back and is now fundraising to support the hospital’s vital work. If you’d like to support her fundraising efforts and hear more about Harper’s story, please follow the link below.
