A Local Charity with Real Meaning
We chose to support the Border Collie Trust because it is local and meaningful to many of our colleagues. Supporting charities close to our communities helps create a stronger connection to the causes we champion and allows us to see the impact of that support more clearly.
Care at Scale
From the moment we arrived, it was clear how much commitment goes into running the Trust. At any one time, they can care for up to 42 dogs, each requiring daily attention, training and tailored support.
The cost of caring for one dog is approximately £20–£25 per day, covering essentials such as food, veterinary care and housing. When considered across dozens of dogs, this highlights the significant responsibility the Trust manages on an ongoing basis.
Rehabilitation and Rehoming
Many dogs arriving at the Trust have complex needs or difficult backgrounds. Each rehabilitation journey focuses on understanding the individual dog and preparing them for the right home.
Rehoming is approached carefully, with ongoing support for adopters to help ensure placements are successful and sustainable, creating long‑term stability for every dog.
Why This Matters to Us
The Border Collie Trust does truly wonderful work, providing care, safety and a second chance to dogs who need it most. Seeing their operation first‑hand reinforced why this is a cause we’re proud to support and one we’d love to continue supporting.
The visit also highlighted how important sustainable support is for charities managing significant responsibilities with limited resources – something we understand well through our work in the non‑profit sector.
We’re proud to support organisations like the Border Collie Trust and the vital work they do – one dog at a time.
