The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of its ten ‘Homes from Home’.

Hospitals can be a lonely and scary place for anyone, but especially a child. Providing families with somewhere to stay together just minutes from the hospital means that they can be by their sick child’s side and have one less thing to worry about.

 

The Challenge

The Sick Children’s Trust had been seeking a new finance solution after its previous system offered limited capabilities, including manual input of data for budgets or forecasts, as there was no import function available. This meant the process was time consuming and was also open to human error, meaning extra time also had to be spent proofreading and double-checking the data.

Other problems with the previous system included no import function for income journals, and an inability to customise management account reports or annual accounts. The charity was therefore seeking a more user-friendly option to speed up processes and improve efficiencies.

After speaking with other charities and searching for other suppliers, The Sick Children’s Trust decided a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offering from ForGood.Tech was the ideal route to take, backed up with ForGood.Tech’s depth of knowledge and experience in the charity sector.

 

The Solution

To improve processes, it was decided that The Sick Children’s Trust would benefit highly from the ForGood.Tech Accelerator solution. Following the go-live process, producing management accounts has become a much smoother process for the charity, with import functionalities giving the charity confidence in the reports they produce.
